Draw Your Feelings Team building
What is this activity?
This is a fun and creative check-in activity that helps people share their emotions before the main retrospective starts. Instead of only using words, participants use drawings to express how they feel. Sometimes it’s hard to describe feelings, but a simple drawing can say a lot. For example, someone might draw a fast car to show they feel full of energy, or a cloudy sky if they’re feeling uncertain. Sharing these drawings helps the whole team see the general mood in the group. It also gives everyone a chance to express themselves in a different way, not just with text. This technique is especially useful for creating a safe and open atmosphere before moving into deeper discussions.

Draw Your Feelings Template
🎨 How do you feel?
Create a card with a simple drawing that shows how you feel right now, in the context of this meeting.
How to conduct this activity
Before starting, make sure to activate the Draw feature in your EasyRetro board so participants can draw on their cards. Now, you can follow the instructions below: 1. Ask each participant to create a card on the board and use the draw feature to make a simple drawing that represents their current feeling. 2. Encourage creativity — it could be an animal, a vehicle, an object, or even a symbol. 3. Once everyone has drawn, invite participants to share their thoughts about their drawing with the group if they feel comfortable. 4. Use this as a light, visual way to check the team’s mood before moving on to the main retrospective activity. This activity works well for both in-person and remote teams. For remote teams, participants can still draw on paper and upload a picture to the card if they prefer.
